The Music Academy in Cetinje was established in 1980 in Titograd (today Podgorica) as one of the faculties of the Veljko Vlahović University of Montenegro. Today, its headquarters are located in Cetinje. As the largest and most significant educational music institution in Montenegro, the Music Academy keeps pace with contemporary trends in music pedagogy and achievements in the field of musical arts and educates young and talented professionals, enabling them to vitally contribute to artistic and musical creation and support the development of their country and region, aligned with contemporary European trends. The mission of the Music Academy is to expand and enhance knowledge, learning, and skills, with full openness to cooperation with similar and other institutions and entities from the immediate and wider environment. At the Music Academy, students are educated in undergraduate and master’s programs in the educational fields of General Music Pedagogy, Performing Arts, and Conducting (within Performing Arts – Piano, String Instruments, Wind Instruments, Guitar, and Accordion).
