Founded in 1980 in Titograd as a faculty of the Veljko Vlahović University of Montenegro, the Music Academy in Cetinje now operates from its headquarters in Cetinje. As the largest and most important higher music education institution in Montenegro, the Academy trains young and talented professionals by aligning its curriculum with modern trends in music pedagogy and achievements in musical art. Its graduates contribute to the artistic and cultural development of the country and the region in accordance with contemporary European standards. The Academy’s mission is to expand and enhance knowledge, learning, and skills, with full openness to collaboration with similar institutions and other partners locally and internationally. The Academy offers undergraduate and master’s studies in the following programs: General Music Pedagogy and Performing Arts and Conducting (with specializations in Piano, String Instruments, Wind Instruments, Guitar, and Accordion).
