Since recording their album Des de la finestra in 2023, trumpeter Luis González and guitarist Jaume Rico have presented their musical project through numerous concerts. As the combination of trumpet and guitar has only a limited original repertoire, the duo performs both arrangements and original works written specifically for the unique sound and technical possibilities of the ensemble, as well as for the performers’ individual artistic skills. Through their interpretations, the musicians lead audiences on a journey through a variety of musical styles from the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Performing on a range of instruments – including B♭ and C trumpets, cornet, flugelhorn, and both classical and electric guitar, they explore a rich spectrum of timbres and colors. The program features works by composers such as Lluís Llach, George Gershwin, Antônio Carlos Jobim, and Ariel Ramírez – presented in arrangements created for this distinctive duo, as well as adaptations of works from the classical repertoire and arrangements of popular pieces from the Valencian musical tradition. Complementing these works are original compositions written specifically for the trumpet-and-guitar duo.
