Artist
Alexei Volodin, is widely regarded as one of the most distinguished pianists of his generation and is regularly invited to perform with many of the world’s leading orchestras. In the 2025/26 season, he is appearing throughout Europe, Asia, and North America, continuing to demonstrate the remarkable breadth and versatility of his repertoire. In recent seasons, he has performed with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Kyoto Symphony Orchestra, the Mariinsky Theater Orchestra, and the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, collaborating with conductors including Valery Gergiev, Semyon Bychkov, Stanislav Kochanovsky, and Robert Treviño. Volodin regularly gives recitals in some of the world’s most prestigious concert venues, including the Vienna Konzerthaus, Carnegie Hall in New York, Wigmore Hall in London, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and the National Auditorium of Music in Madrid. He has made numerous acclaimed recordings and is a regular guest at major international music festivals. An accomplished chamber musician, he collaborates with distinguished artists such as Igor Levit, Sol Gabetta, Julian Rachlin, Mischa Maisky, and Edith Peña, as well as renowned ensembles including the Borodin Quartet and the Modigliani Quartet. Volodin studied at the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music in Moscow and at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory under the guidance of Professor Eliso Virsaladze. Since 2001, he has also continued his artistic development at the International Piano Academy Lake Como in Italy.
