Karima, who received the Music Critics’ Award on the Italian Amici di Maria De Filippi talent show in 2006, earning third place, continued to develop her career by signing her first contract with Sony Music and releasing her debut mini-album.
Her powerful and distinctively colored voice stems from a blend of jazz, soul, blues, and even gospel styles. She has gained extensive performance  experience, including appearances at the Sanremo Festival and collaborations with producer Burt Bacharach. Disney selected her to perform and record the soundtrack for the animated film The Princess and the Frog. Karima has opened concerts for Whitney Houston, John Legend, Simply Red, Seal, and Anastacia. A favorite  performer in China, she performed for two consecutive years as part of the Close to You project, becoming the first artist of her genre to appear at the prestigious Beijing Opera. In 2017, she played the lead role of Rachel in the musical The Bodyguard, a character originally portrayed by Whitney Houston in the film of the same name. Karima has collaborated with Italy’s most renowned street band Frank Off and with musicians such as Dado Moroni, Riccardo Fioravanti, and Stefano Bagnoli. She has released the albums No Filter (Jando Music, 2021), Xmas (Emme Record Label, 2022), and Karima “Canta autori” (2025).
